I am so excited to share with you an opportunity to partner with me and the ISI Texas team. We need prayer partners who will commit to pray for our Tejas Spring Break retreat, March 8-10 at the Rockin C Ranch in Lindale, TX. (http://isitejas.com) The purpose of this annual event is to give seeking people of peace the opportunity to have an environment where they can safely look at Jesus through his Word. In addition it allows followers of Jesus the opportunity to practice helping friends discover God through small groups in His Word. It is done in a camp/retreat setting with many fun things to do including shooting, riding horses, campfire, canoeing, fishing, etc. Finally it is an opportunity to expose volunteers to the North Texas ISI values in doing ministry. Sixty to eighty international students from all over Texas will be there. Last year over 20 people indicated some sort of decision for Jesus.
There has already been much spiritual warfare in regards to this event as would be expected for such a powerful time for Jesus to work in the lives of students. Many of the usual team has not been able to participate fully. Rockin C Ranch had several tragedies happen in recent days including a small fire in their dining room. Students are having a hard time committing. Minor personality issues have flared up. Now make no mistake God has done some, actually many, good things but there has also been some challenges. We have been praying and fasting as a team but when we are at the retreat itself we need someone like you be stand in the gap for us and continue the work of prayer.
What it entails if you agree to help us in this way is that I will let our prayer coordinator, Emily Manasco, ([email protected]) know of your interest. Starting March 7, she will start sending, hopefully (depending on email coverage) daily updates on what to pray for until March 10. Your responsibility is to pray as often as God brings remembrance to you throughout each of the days of the retreat. It can be as simple as a "breath prayer" where you just send up a quick statement to God. Or it can be a more focused prayer. We also challenge you to consider fasting one of the days as a sign of humility to the Lord. Afterwards, we will send you a report of what happened and how God worked.
So, what do you think? Please let me know if you are interested. Click on my contact page on this website and let me know if you would like to join the prayer effort. I know you will be blessed if you join us in this. Thank you so much for partnering with us.
Ron
